I was SO excited and a little terrified to share this vlog last week (I’ve never been chatty before on camera and it’s a lot harder than it looks)! It was great fun to put together. Home really is where the heart is and I’m looking forward to working on a few more Donegal vlogs over the coming weeks – all ideas welcome!
This, my first Donegal vlog, boasts the beautiful scenic spots to enjoy a coffee along the Wild Atlantic Way, Co. Donegal.
1. 9 Hostages, Manorcunningham
9 Hostages is located just 10 minutes from Letterkenny and boasts some really good coffee. Ideal for a quick spin for any Letterkenny locals or those of you travelling the Wild Atlantic Way and looking for a pit stop, 9 Hostages and its view will not disappoint.
2. The Shack, Marble Hill
I’ve said it before, Marble Hill beach is one of my favourite beaches in Co. Donegal. A beautiful beach for a swim (or surf if I would finally give this a go) 35 minutes from Letterkenny and only a stones throw from Dunfanaghy, Marble Hill beach is a must visit. To top it off, The Shack roast their own coffee and offer some tasty treats in this, their by the beach hut – the absolute dream!
3. The Pod, Largy
Visiting this little gem was on my to do list for a LONG time and I am SO happy I finally made the journey. Best visited on a day you’re travelling to the Sliabh Liag Cliffs, The Pod offers a lovely break and chance to stretch the legs while enjoying home-baked goods, great coffee and the most beautiful views (especially on a sunny day) before setting off again to reach the stunning Sliabh Liag Cliffs.
4. Wild Atlantic Tae, Fanad
Although the name suggests they specialize in tea, Wild Atlantic Tae too offer a coffee on the go. I couldn’t but include this little van in my Top 5 with it’s backdrop being Fanad Lighthouse – breathtaking! With coffee in hand, I made my way to the Lighthouse and completed the tour. One should be warned, you’re in for a steep climb on some narrow steps in the lighthouse, but the view is so worth it.
5. Moka, Lisfannon
This specialist coffee van offers the tastiest of coffees whilst walking the stunning Lisfannon beach. Again, Moka makes for an ideal pitstop along the Wild Atlantic Way ahead of a visit to Dunree Head or further again towards Malin Head.
For drives along the Wild Altantic Way, we are so lucky in Co. Dongeal to have an array of coffee stops to fuel our journeys and make for that perfect day exploring our stunning coastline.
I hope you enjoy the video!
