In May 2016, Suzie and I ventured to lovely Lahinch. We were hosted by Joanne who showed us around the sites of Lahinch, followed by a little trip along the Wild Atlantic Way towards Salthill, Galway.
Having booked and spent money we don’t have on summer trips and now living ‘on a shoestring’, we (and by ‘we’ I mean Suzie) made a lovely home cooked Thai meal in Joanne’s holiday home and I provided your typical Irish breakfast (by ‘I’, I mean my mother packed the goods before I hit the road) and managed to have a relatively inexpensive trip – thanks for the packed lunch on the road also Mum!
Following a tasty breakfast, we hit the road and stopped at the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, a popular swimming spot in Clahane and the Ballyvaughin tea rooms (which were so pretty and an idealistic pit stop for anyone making this journey).
The only accommodation expense was also of the inexpensive kind. We stayed in a phenomenal ‘airbnb’ in Salthill, Galway where we were hosted by a lovely couple who allowed us use of their exquisite rooftop area with breathtaking views of the Salthill promenade.
Come along on our trip and have a look at my first GoPro video with footage documenting our adventures along the Wild Atlantic Way.
I hope you enjoy it!
